A SECOND round of coronavirus testing is under way at Glenisla Care Home in Keith.

The home last week appealed to public health officials for more testing – and those appeals have been successful.

Testing is taking place today and tomorrow and results will be given to employees, residents and families in due course.

A spokesperson for Glenisla Care Home said: "We are pleased that our representations to public health officials on behalf of residents and staff at Glenisla have been successful, and a second round of testing is now under way.

"We will update residents, their relatives and our employees once those tests have been processed.

"In the meantime, we are continuing to implement our comprehensive infection prevention and control regime, in line with national guidelines, and our dedicated staff are working round the clock to provide the highest level of care to our residents, who are in good spirits.

"We are grateful for the tremendous show of support we have received from the local community; it has been a huge boost to the morale of our residents and staff."

The last update given by Glenisla showed two residents and a carer had tested positive for covid-19.
