Moray parents and carers should submit any new applications for school transport by the end of the month.

.

The council states that it needs to know the numbers so it can ensure travel arrangements can be made in line with covid-19 restrictions.

It adds that any applications received after June 30 may not be accommodated.

Parents and carers who have already applied don't need to do so again.

A Moray Council spokesperson said: "We’re currently reviewing our school transport procedures to ensure compliance with covid-19 restrictions and to keep our children and young people safe when they return to school in August.

"It’s important parents and carers have any new applications for school transport with us by June 30 to ensure we take all requests into consideration."

New applications can be made via the school transport page of the Moray Council website.

Travel passes for new P1s and S1s will be posted out during the summer holidays. If a pass has not been received by August 5, parents and carers should email ptuteam@moray.gov.uk with the name of the pupil, their address and school.

Other pupils do not receive new passes in August as previously issued passes are still valid.
