Gardenstown’s Bracoden Primary School to celebrate 150th anniversary





A school is preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary.

Gardenstown’s Bracoden Primary will mark the milestone with a community event on Saturday, June 14.

With the school first opening in 1875, many generations of young people have passed through its doors.

The ceremony, which will take place from midday to 4pm, will feature an opening performance by pupils.

People will be able to take a trip down memory lane with 150 years of the school’s history on display.

There will be bespoke items for sale including a 60-page book of photos and memories.

A commemorative plaque will be unveiled to mark the occasion.
