The Gordon Schools volunteer mentoring scheme MCR Pathways to help pupils
A charity is seeking volunteers to mentor pupils at a school.
Award-winning mentoring charity MCR Pathways is looking for volunteers to help out at The Gordon Schools in Huntly due to an increased demand.
The charity offers support to youngsters to allow them to receive an equality of education, career opportunities and life chances.
Mhairi Middleton, senior partnership manager for north and MCR Pathways said: “Our mentoring programme is well established and has proven to be a positive and transformational experience for both young people and their mentors, who come from all walks of life.
“We would be delighted to hear from any local people who might be able to give just one hour per week.
“We’d also love to hear from local employers who would like the support staff to get involved.
“Mentors and their employers gain significantly from the experience for relatively little time commitment.”
Volunteer mentors dedicate 1:1 mentoring, 50 minutes per week to help youngsters reach their full potential by empowering them with confidence and self-belief.
