It may only be May, but Santa Claus has decided to swing by Ellon to check in on all of the boys and girls during lockdown and see if they can help him with a special job.

Instead of bringing gifts, Santa is hoping to collect items to pass on to those in need.

Accompanied by members of Ellon Round Table Santa is asking residents, if they are able, to leave a little something on their doorstep (or a similar easy to spot and easy to access outdoor space) for him to collect.

Children are asked to stay indoors and wave to Santa out the window, and will get a rare peak at him in his summer attire.

Suggested items that could be donated include tinned goods, baby food/formula/nappies, biscuits, toiletries, cleaning products, rice, pasta, sauces, cereals and long life products.

Santa is also happy to collect vouchers for local food stores.

He is going to spread his collection across three nights to ensure that he can see as many people as possible.

His proposed schedule is:

  • Thursday May 7 - Auchterellon and Esslemont.
  • Friday May 8 - Meiklemill, Hillhead and Bredero.
  • Saturday May 9 - New houses, Mcdonald and Castle Park.

On Thursday and Friday Santa will visit between 6pm and 9pm and on Saturday he hopes to pop in between 10am and 6pm.

Full details can be found on Ellon Round Table's Facebook page.
