As retailers gear up for the reopening of businesses with direct street access, in Inverurie measures have been continuing to help keep the public safe.

Later this week, plans for the Safer Places scheme are due to be finalised by Aberdeenshire Council which looks at traffic and pedestrian flow in the town centre.

In the meantime, INverurie BID have been busy working with locals to make sure that when they open customers will be able to maintain social distancing and hygiene.

To this end INverurie BID hand sanitisers have been given to over 80 properties.

These touchless, automatic dispensers are now in place throughout INverurie supported by We Are INverurie -BID and INverurie Business Association.

As BID's Derek Ritchie commented: "Our thanks go to Jordan and Dean from LocoSoco Group who supplied and installed them.

"With the hand sanitisers and various other measures in place in our businesses, Inverurie will be one of the safest places anywhere to go and shop in."
