Rural bus service set for reintroduction

THE A2B bus service which serves the Alford to Huntly route is set to restart on Monday, November 9.

So that there is sufficient distance between passengers on the bus, travel must be booked in advance.

Drivers will not allow passengers to board who have not booked and hand sanitiser and face coverings must be used (unless exempt).

Passengers phoning 01467 535333, Monday to Friday to ask for transport will be accommodated where there is space as the total number of passengers is limited.

On Monday and Wednesday - The bus will depart Insch at 9.30am to at Alford 9.50am, Rhynie 10.10am and arrive at Huntly at 10.25am.

It will then do two rural runs - Huntly 10.40am - Lumsden 11.05am - Huntly 11.30am; Huntly 11.45am - Rhynie 12.05pm - Huntly 12.25pm.

It returns Huntly 1.10pm - Lumsden 1.35pm - Alford 2pm - Insch 2.30pm.

On Tuesday and Thursday, Rhynie and Lumsden swap places in the timetable - Lumsden at 10.05am, Rhynie 11am, Lumsden 11.55am and Rhynie at 1.20pm.

On Friday the bus will leave Insch at 9.30am and heads to Auchleven 9.35am - Clatt 9.50am - Kennethmont 10am and Huntly 10.15am before returning at 11.30am to arrive back at Insch at 12.15pm.

Drop off within Huntly is available at various locations and can be requested.
