Buckie area roads to close for roadworks over coming week





Roadworks are set to close two local roads this coming week.

Christie Place in Fochabers will be closed at the junction with Westmorland Street on June 11 for the day due to ironworks inspections. Motorists should follow the following diversion - Westmorland Street, South Street, East Street and Christie Place.

Meanwhile, at Deskford, the U57aL will be closed from the Old Mill to the junction while the C7L will be shut at the junction with the U57aL, also on June 11 for carraigeway resurfacing work. These are due to last until June 13.

A diversion will be in place via C7, C62L and B901.

A prohibition of waiting order will be in force over June 11 on both sides of Castlehill Road, Fochabers at the junction with Slorach’s Brae to allow for ironworks inspection.

Over at 13 The Steadings, Findochty, Openreach are due to start excavation work over June 10-11 for three working days. Similar work, estimated to last three working days, is due to have started outside 8, 20, 23 and 80 Douglas Crescent, Buckie by June 9.

Scottish Water are scheduled to be at two sites in Buckie. Outside No 5 Great Eastern Road, the firm should have finished urgent sewer repairs by June 16, while at 5, Samson Avenue work to install a boundary box to contain an internal leak are set to be completed by June 9.
