Road surfacing improvement work to take place on A96
A section of the A96 road is set to benefit from a £350,000 road surfacing scheme that will deliver improvements to the carriageway.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out overnight resurfacing on approximately 875 metres of the A96 to the north of Pitcaple between Sunday, June 30 and Thursday, July 11.
The improvements will be undertaken between 370 metres west of the Chapel of Garioch junction and 130 metres east of the layby.
An Amey spokesman said: “To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under an overnight convoy between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.
“There will be no overnight works on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6.
“Traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Thursday, July 11.
“The resurfacing will benefit more than 10,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
“Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.”
