Police Scotland have said that as of 1pm the A981 remains closed due to fallen trees at the south-most exit from Memsie southward towards Strichen.

Diversions are in place but the road will be closed until at least tomorrow (Monday 8).

Elsewhere several trees which have come down in high winds have or are being cleared.

This includes the B9170 near Cuminestown (now cleared), B993 Kemnay at the Quarry turning (in progress), B9170 New Deer to Methlick at Myres of Bedlam nearer to New Deer (blocked as of 1pm), B993 Tillyfourie near Glenton Cottages (in progress).
