The singer was met with an enthusiastic crowd as he delivered Scotland's highest selling indoor show with 14,951 fans buying tickets to see the singer.

The musician was in Aberdeen as part of his European and UK tour, to promote his new album Broken By The Desire To Be Heavenly Sent. He began the show with the first single from the unreleased album, Forget Me which fans enthusiastically sung along to.

The performance, in typical Lewis Capaldi style, can only be described as a mix between a concert and a comedy show.

The singer seemed completely at ease on the stage and seemed to enjoy chatting and interacting with his fans, within the first 10 minutes of the show, he had invited two fans on stage, after they asked him for a hug.

The singer said: "This is a strange way to start the show but we're doing it. I imagine that was underwhelming for them, but i disappoint women on the regular."

Between renditions of songs from his best selling first album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent and his yet unreleased second album, Capaldi continued to banter with fans, even inviting a third fan on stage to take a picture.

However, it was his singing that seemed to completely capture the audience who sung along word perfect to hits like Someone You Loved, Before You Go and Forever.

His new music also seemed to be a hit with fans and the synth heavy 80's inspired Leave Me Slowly received lots of cheers and applause.

Speaking at the show of his record breaking ticket sales the singer said: "Before we went on tonight I was told by the promoter

that this is the largest indoor concert in Scottish history, so thanks for your money everyone!

"It is wild, this tour has sold out and the first shows to sell out were the two in Scottish cities so thank you very much for that."

After the show Louise Stewart, Interim Managing Director at the P&J Live, said: “Last nights’ show was absolutely phenomenal.

"The perfect blend of humour and pure talent, Lewis entertained the record-breaking crowd with new music, some classic hits and gave us a few laughs along the way.

“This is a fantastic accolade for P&J Live and is exactly what the venue was built for. We would like to thank DF Concerts & Events for bringing Lewis up the North East of Scotland and to his fans for all their continued support – we couldn’t do it without you.

"We look forward to continuing to bring a variety of world- class acts to the region.”
