The nominations for Moray & Banffshire Heroes 2022 closes at midnight Friday, December 10 so be sure to give all your Heroes your support and nominate them now!

This week we are featuring our final award for nomination, the brave child of the year.

The award will be given to a child who has overcome extreme adversity or shown exceptional courage or bravery in their life.

Sponsoring the award for brave child of the year is MKM Building Supplies Elgin.

Branch director Doug McNair said the business was fully behind the campaign: “It has been a hard 18 months for everybody but children have been really affected, especially those facing other challenges because of illness or they have special needs. There are so many youngsters in our communities who have been very brave throughout the pandemic but many have had to be even braver. MKM Builders is delighted to sponsor this award that recognises our brave youngsters.”

Branch director Neil Mathers added: “Children really have faced a tough time during the pandemic with lockdowns and disruption to their education, and for those needing hospital treatment and other care it’s been even harder. This award will celebrate them and hopefully bring a much-needed smile to everyone’s faces.”
