A rehoming organisation which focusses on the 'most difficult of dogs' has announced that they will be closing their doors due to a lack of support.

Until Every Dog Has A Home was set up near Turriff in 2017 and focussed it's efforts on dogs that were widely deemed 'undesirable', taking in and training dogs with challenging behaviour.

Taking to social media to break the news, founder Karen Fairclough said: "We take in the most difficult of dogs, often from rescues who are experienced with challenging dogs, but have found themselves with a dog outwith their skill set.

"Other dogs have been surrendered by owners, after their dog has bitten, their vet has recommended euthanasia and other rescues have already turned them away.

"Many already had a date for euthanasia due to behaviour.

"We prided ourselves on putting these dogs individuals needs first; everything from their daily care and training to rehoming.

"We work hard, everyday, to give them the second chance they deserve.

"Sadly our efforts for support and to have others understand the beauty that lays within these troubled dogs, has been futile.

"Each month is a constant struggle to fund the rescue and the dogs within it, but it's not just funding.

"We have a constant battle for support.

"Nobody's really interested, out of 3000 [Facebook] followers, nobody sees us; very few interact to help us be seen by the social media algorithms.

"We struggle to rehome our dogs, they work hard to be able to deemed suitable for rehoming...but the right home doesn't come their way.

"They aren't seen.

"With no funding and dogs not finding their homes once ready, sadly the decision has been made to no longer accept any new dogs.

"To those who have supported us, thank you."

The sanctuary currently has three dogs in its care who they will continue to work with until they find their perfect home, after which time Until Every Dog Has A Home will close permanently.
