Moray's councillors have been publicly warned that their behaviour risks harming the local authority's reputation.
This follows a bad tempered meeting of the full council last Wednesday which lasted for nearly six hours.
During the session SNP, Conservative and Independent councillors accused each other of politicising various issues.
Having overrun its time slot, the same meeting was re-convened earlier this afternoon.
The public warning was issued before the proceedings began by Alasdair McEachan, who as the council's monitoring, has the role of 'refereeing' council meetings.
Mr McEachan said: "There's been a significant increase in time spent dealing with incidences of disrespectful behaviour and incidences of division between councillors.
"Whilst it isn't appropriate to go into the details of these I would comment on the risk of these issues causing reputational damage to the council and hindering the council's ability to make progress with its strategic priorities."
