Pride of Inverurie awards finalists named

From teachers to posties, from support groups to local shop floors, Inverurie has chosen their finalists for Pride of Inverurie.

Across eight categories, nominations have been received which recognise the selfless work that has gone on in the area during the pandemic and the actions taken by groups and individuals in support of the community at large.

The worthy finalists and generous sponsors are as follows-

Community Champion, sponsored by Mackies of Scotland - Frances Matheson (Port Elphinstone Community House), Linda Singer (Grampian Opportunities) and Julie Fyvie (Caring is Sharing).

Key Worker, sponsored by Premier Coaches - Eric Massie Funeral Directors, Morrisons Inverurie Community and Royal Mail Inverurie.

Support for Learning, sponsored by Elevator - Mark Jones (Inverurie Academy), Kellands Primary School and Shona Lees (MCR Pathways).

Health/Care Worker, sponsored by Inverurie Business Association - Will Chemists, Inspire PTL and Louise Glennie (Inverurie Health Centre).

Local Business Award, sponsored by We Are Inverurie BID - Strachans Inverurie, Inverurie Whisky Shop and Novello Gifts.

Fundraising/Charity Project, sponsored by Johnston Carmichael - Jodie Young (Half marathon for LATNEM), Andy Low (Locos FC) and FlyCup Catering Inverurie.

Community Group/Initiative, sponsored Donald Russell - LATNEM, Inverurie Locos FC and A Christmas Presence.

Entertainment Award, sponsored Lippe Architects - Right Here Productions, Scott Mellis and Lockdown Live Aberdeenshire.

Two further awards, the Young Person Award sponsored by Elevator and the Lifetime Achievement sponsored by J G Ross are announced on the night.

The virtual audience for this year's event can expect live music, a fantastic host and an array of local community videos to help us look back on the past year.
