Chairman of Inverurie Events, Ian Thain said: "It is with much regret that Inverurie Events have taken the decision to cancel this year’s Pride of Inverurie.

"Hopefully, the world will have safely returned to some form of normality by the time of the Awards Dinner scheduled for Friday, August 21.

"However, the current environment does not lend itself to promoting the voting process, highlighting the much-appreciated support of our sponsors, and arranging our sponsors evening to meet with the short-listed nominees.

"We intend to reinstate Pride of Inverurie in 2021, and look forward to the continuing support of our sponsors and the wider Inverurie community, for which we remain eternally grateful.

"In the meantime, please continue to follow Government guidelines, look out for others and stay safe. "
