Post Office set to re-open in Portsoy at new location
Portsoy Post Office is to re-open at a new location in the town’s J G Ross Bakery.
This will restore Post Office services to the area after the temporary closure of the branch at the community’s ice cream shop since November 2022, due to the resignation of the postmaster.
To restore services as quickly as possible, at the nearby location, the Post Office plans to open at the new premises on Monday, August 19 at 9am.
During the interim alternative branches included:
• Cullen Post Office, 28-30 Seafield Street, Cullen.
• Whitehills Post Office, 8 Loch Street, Whitehills.
There will be a Post Office serving position alongside the retail counter of the bakery.
The Post Office opening hours will be: Monday - Friday: 9am – 3.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 3 pm.
This will provide 38 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office services a week for the convenience of customers.
A similar range of services will be available as before.
David Duff, Post Office network provision manager, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring a Post Office to this area as we know how important it is to a community.”
The opportunity to give feedback on access into and within the premises will close on July 18. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 433801.
