Appeal for information following caravan fire near Turriff

Police Scotland are making an appeal for information in relation to an ongoning investigation of the circumstances surrounding a caravan being found on fire near Turriff.

The incident happened on the unclassified Balquholly Access Road at Uppermill to the south of Turriff in the early hours of Monday, June 8.

Commenting sergeant Colin Houston said: “The caravan is a small four berth and cream and brown in colour and was completely destroyed.

“We are appealing for anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact us and we are also keen for the public to help us identify the owner of the caravan and how long it has been sited at this location".

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2081 of June 8.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

This is the second incident of this kind to take place this week, with officers also currently investigating a fire in Banff.
