Turriff dangerous drivers are targeted by police

Police have been targeting dangerous drivers in a town after complaints from residents.

Since the start of the year in Turriff, 27 tickets have been handed out for road traffic offences including speeding, having no insurance and using a mobile phone while driving.

Eight people have been issued anti-social behaviour orders for their poor driving etiquette and three have been charged with dangerous driving.

Three have been charged for having no insurance, with two of them having their vehicles seized.

Sergeant Richard Jones said: "Following feedback from the local community, we have made tackling road offending a priority in Turriff.

"Those that choose to drive dangerously or do not follow the laws of the road will be dealt with the full extent of powers available.

"Anyone with concerns over motoring or road traffic offences, should contact 101 to report them."
