Police charge man over gorse fire

POLICE have charged a 31-year-old man in connection with a large gorse fire at Kingston last Tuesday.

Around a mile of gorse and woodland was destroyed in the blaze.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene at Beach Road in Kingston last Tuesday at 4.41pm. It took several hours to bring the fire under control.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank the public for their patience and support while we carried out our enquiries."
