PICTURES: Ellon scarecrows are back for second year of festival

The Ellon Scarecrow Festival has returned to the town for its second year.

The event is organised by the community’s three primary schools – Auchterellon, Ellon Primary and Meiklemill.

It started on Saturday and will last until Sunday, October 31.

People have until then to go around all the entries and vote for their favourites.

An interactive map of all the locations and details on how people can vote can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

The deadline for getting votes in is 9am on Monday, November 1.

The prizes for first, second and third place will then be presented to those who have been voted for.

In total there are 110 entries with a variety of colourful characters on display.

With Halloween coming up a lot have followed this theme.

There are also a number film, TV and computer game characters including The Minions, SpongeBob SquarePantsand Super Mario.

Ellon Police Station features a scarecrow robber who has been apprehended.

While former president Donald Trump’s time in the White House is featured in another scene.
