Taken from the archives of the Buckie and District Fishing Heritage Centre Ltd, the pictures show the town and its surrounding areas - in some cases more than 100 years ago.

This week’s photos focus on the former Jones’ Shi[yard, the remnants of which can still be seen to the rear of Buckie Harbour.

They show the launch of two vessels from the yard’s slip, one a minesweeper.

The shipyard had its originals when James Jones purchased a sawmill in 1908 and later the lands and sheds at Ianstown from McIntosh & Sons in 1918. It was to close in 1995 after years of struggle to fill the order books.

The last structures of the yard were finally bulldozed in 2020 after becoming increasingly derelict over the years.
