Moray Council's education chief thanks parents for supporting home schooling

PARENTS who have supported remote learning have been praised by Moray Council’s head of education.
The comments from Vivienne Cross come as nursery children, P1-3 and some senior pupils get ready to return to school on Monday as part of a phased reopening of schools.
She said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming back pre-school and P1-3, as well as senior phase secondary pupils on a phased basis.
"All our learners have shown impressive resilience and I want to say a huge thank you to the families who have been supporting remote learning; we’ve been really pleased to see a high level of engagement, and remote learning will continue for all those not returning on Monday, or already in school.
“Once again we’re adapting to a new way of working in our schools and nurseries, but colleagues have risen to the challenge every time and will continue to ensure our children and young people learn in a friendly and safe environment.
"Another phase of recovery reinforces the need to adhere to distancing and other protocols, and we urge those dropping children off at school and picking them up not to gather in groups or loiter for any longer than necessary.”
