Man jailed after repeatedly kicking and stamping on woman’s head
A man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for viciously assaulting a woman.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Andrew Clark, from Elgin, kicked and stamped on her head after earlier threatening to hit her with a rock on May 14, last year.

Man who abused and assaulted partners over 13-year period jailed
A Keith man who abused, controlled and assaulted three of his partners over a 13 year period has been jailed for 18 months.
Colin Morrison, of Nelson Terrace, was also banned from contacting or approaching his victims, who were left "petrified and terrified" by him.

Man in court after hurling abuse at police
A 63-year-old shouted abuse and swore at police who had wanted to question him on a different matter.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Joseph Grant of Green Street, Rothes, had been taken to Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness for interview on July 30 last year, but he began uttering threats and referring to officers in a derogatory manner.

Drink driver nearly six times over the limit is banned from roads
A man who was caught drink-driving nearly six times over the legal limit has been banned from the roads.
Robert McWilliam (65) appeared at Banff Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to driving a car after drinking so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath was 120 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, which exceeded the prescribed limit of 22mcg in 100ml of breath, on the A97 Banff to Huntly road near Aberchirder, on January 8 this year.

‘Monster’ serial rapist contacted two women and five-year-old from jail
A serial rapist flouted a strict sex offence order by contacting two women and a girl from behind bars.
Edward Moir was jailed for seven years in 2014 for attacks on three vulnerable females in Elgin, Moray and MacDuff, Aberdeenshire.

Pensioner snared after making sexual remarks to ‘14-year-old girl’
A pensioner who made explicit sexual remarks to what he believed was a 14-year-old girl was snared by an adult from a paedophile hunter group who was posing as a teenager.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Duncan Moir, from Buckie, contacted the 'girl' calling herself 'Molly' on December 17, 2023.

Man left in coma after fight sparked by smashed Playstation
A man was left in hospital with a two facial factures and a broken nose after a fight with a friend that was sparked by a PlayStation being smashed.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Andrew Muir, from Buckie but described as an Inverness prisoner, had been out drinking in a local pub before returning to his home in Brodie Avenue in the early hours of April 13, 2024.
