Organisers call off winter ploughing matches

With the Scottish Championships cancelled back in July, organisers of the local Grampian Supermatch were still optimistic that local ploughing matches could still take place.

However a decision was made this week to cancel all of the competitions at the following locations- Boyndie, Crimond, Moray, Macduff, Fordyce, Lower Deeside, Newmachar and the Grampian Supermatch.

Spokeswoman Alison Ironside said: "These were very hard decisions for all these ploughing matches to be cancelled but the priority was for everyone to stay safe during these terrible times."
