Insch's Fun Festival of Scarecrows saw people take to the village's streets in search of 70 creations over the weekend.

This year's event had a books theme with residents creating scarecrows of their favourite literary characters.

These included Harry Potter, Charlotte's Web, The Scarecrows' Wedding, The Cat in the Hat, Peter Rabbit and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Room on the Broom was the inspiration for this scarecrow.

The festival is raising money for the Insch, Premnay and Oyne primary schools and the parish church.

There is still time to take part in the scarecrow treasure hunt with forms available from the DIY shop. The scarecrows will disappear from the village at 5pm on Tuesday.

Reverend Dr Kay Gauld said: "Sincere thanks to all who have taken the time and made the effort to produce such creative and imaginative works of art.

"It is much appreciated as, without your efforts, there wouldn't be a scarecrow festival."
