Buckie and Macduff dates for MSP’s energy advice sessions

A north-east MSP is to offer a series of pop-in events offering home energy advice.

Karen Adam, who represents Banffshire and Buchan Coast, is launching a series of sessions for constituents offering information on combating high fuel bills, financial support and other forms of support available from charities and community organisations as the cost of living and energy crises continue to take their toll on people across Scotland this winter.

The sessions are set to come to both Buckie and Macduff on Friday, November 8 and November 15 respectively. The Town House will play host to the Buckie event from 1.30pm-3pm while the Macduff session will be held over the same times at the Old Primary School on Fife Street.

Ms Adam, said: "As winter draws in, many people are struggling with high heating costs, the removal of the winter heating allowance, and the challenges posed by inevitable storms. More than ever, people need a little help to get by.

"Often, support is available, but the barrier lies in knowing where to look and how to apply. I want to ensure my constituents have access to the advice, assistance and support they need. This initiative includes a series of events across Banffshire and the Buchan Coast to help the public understand what support they are entitled to and how to access it."

Further events are scheduled throughout November. Constituents are invited to contact the office of Karen Adam via e-mail on karen.adam.msp@parliament.scot or via telephone on 01779 400 601 for further details.
