One of the most exciting bands on the Scottish folk scene is headed for Braemar on Friday (March 31) on the penultimate leg of their month-long UK-wide tour.

The award-winning quartet RURA has been a mainstage highlight at some of the world’s leading folk and roots music festivals over the past decade, touring across Europe, Canada, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

They will perform music from their new hotly-anticipated fourth studio album Dusk Moon.

Inspired by a deep sense of reflection and hope, Dusk Moon sees the band’s progressive, emotive and powerful sound come of age, with cinematic arrangements evoking the people and landscape of their native Scotland.

The spellbinding live show at the unique and atmospheric St Margaret’s Braemar is not to be missed.

Tickets start at £14.50 for Friends of St Margaret’s and £9 for children, with doors opening from 7.30pm. Tickets are available at stmargaretsbraemar.org.uk

St Margaret’s programme manager Cameron Grant said: “We are so excited to welcome the amazing RURA to St Margaret’s next Friday.

“Their brand new album Dusk Moon has received rave reviews for its expert composition, deft musicianship and for the way this band continues after 10 years to push the limits of Scottish folk music.

“They’ve played some big venues right across the UK on their March tour and now, for their penultimate gig of this run, they’re ready to raise the roof in Braemar.

“2023 marks another year in upping the ante at St Margaret’s – with our busiest programme yet, showcasing some of the country’s top talent in trad, folk, acoustic, jazz, classical and country music.

“There’s still a few days left to grab your tickets to see RURA before they’re all snapped up – it’s going to be an incredible night.”
