NO NEW coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Moray in the last week, with the death toll remaining at 61 since the outbreak began.

Of those 61, 47 tested positive for virus and passed away within 28 days, while 14 had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.

Meanwhile, there has been a change in the way which Public Health Scotland is reporting the number of Covid-19 tests.

Figures show that the number of positive cases has risen from 13,040 to 13,490 – an increase of 450. However, the 450 only represents positive PCR tests and does not include positive lateral flow tests as previous.

This is despite people with no symptoms who test positive for Covid-19 no longer being asked to get a confirmatory PCR test.

New figures, though, show figures for Moray across the last two weeks. These figures show that 1480 people tested positive on a PCR test, 835 tested positive on an LFD test and 299 had both tests.

This change in data may change these updates going forward.
