"We are not going to be asking you to stay inside your own homes the way we did in March."
Those were the words of Nicola Sturgeon at today's daily briefing as she ruled out imposing another national lockdown across the whole of Scotland.
The First Minister also said there would be no national travel ban and schools will only close for the October holidays.
However, the First Minister strongly hinted that alternative restrictions would be implemented to slow the spread of the virus.
She said: "Levels of infection now in most parts of Scotland are higher than we can be comfortable with."
A statement is expected tomorrow.
