Covid-19 in Aberdeenshire and Moray: NHS Grampian recruiting for largest ever vaccination programme

NHS Grampian is seeking to recruit people to help with what it calls "the largest vaccination programme ever undertaken".

The health board is looking to recruit both medically qualified and unqualified staff.

A spokesperson said: "In accordance with the Scottish Government’s priorities, we will be vaccinating in a number of waves which will culminate in mass vaccination of the population, with vaccination sites being located across our geographic area.

"To achieve this we will need to call upon the skills and expertise of our population and recruit large numbers of staff to support our goals."

Vaccinators must be currently be registered with either the National Medical Council, General Medical Council, General Dental Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, General Optical Council or Health and Care Professions Council.

The spokesperson added: "We’re recruiting across Grampian, so if would like to come to support vaccination clinics on a fixed term contract for up to 18 months, please apply for your preferred location."

These are Aberdeen City, Moray, Aberdeenshire North, Aberdeenshire Central or Aberdeenshire South.

The salary range is advertised as £25,100 to £31,649.

The medically qualified rolls in Moray are being advertised here; those in Aberdeenshire North here and Aberdeenshire Central here.

HNS Grampian is also seeking to recruit vaccination support staff.

These are described as "vital in supporting the smooth running of vaccination clinics", which will run between 8am–8pm, seven days per week.

The spokesperson said: "You do not need to have any previous NHS experience, but do need to be positive, enthusiastic, empathetic and reliable."

Salary range £18,600 to £20,606.
