Cala Homes (North) has submitted a planning application to construct a total of 117 new properties in Newmachar, with 25 per cent of the proposed homes being affordable.

The firm previously held a community consultation event in November to provide locals with the opportunity to see plans and share feedback.

Centred on the site at Corseduick Road, the development would be created on land which has been allocated for housing in the Local Development plan.

Plans show a mix of 22 flats, 25 semi-detached and 70 detached dwellings varying from two to five bedrooms and can be viewed on Aberdeenshire Council's planning website as application APP/2023/0024.

A spokesperson for Cala Homes (North), said: "This is an exciting project and the first time Cala have looked to develop a site in Newmachar.

"We look forward to receiving a decision from Aberdeenshire Council in due course."
