ST JOHNSTONE - Mannus; Mackay, Maybury, Morris, Anderson, McCracken, Millar, Croft (Moon, 36), Craig, Sheridan (Haber, 73), Sandaza. Subs unused: Adams, Oyenuga, Hutchinson, Keatings, Enckelman. Booked: Maybury, Morris.
Caley Thistle did have a chance in injury-time, but Graeme Shinnie could only send a weak shot straight at Mannus as both sides settle for a point.
All the opportunities now seemed to be coming St Johnstone's way and Tuffey did well to parry away to safety Sheridan's effort from the edge of the box.
The Spaniard then spurned another opportunity shortly afterwards, failing to connect properly with the ball from six yards after Cillian Sheridan had cut it back into his path.
Goalless at the interval, the hosts looked to change that early in the second half when Sandaza beat the offside trap. He managed to evade Jonny Tuffey, but Roman Golobart got back to win the ball, despite strong St Johnstone appeals for a penalty.
At the other end, Dave Mackay went close with a curling effort, while Liam Craig was wasteful when dragging a low shot from 12 yards across the face of goal after being set up by Francisco Sandaza.
Richie Foran then stung the palms of St Johnstone goalkeeper Alan Mannus from 25 yards. From the resultant corner, Josh Meekings sent a shot narrowly wide.
Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher had demanded a response from his players to events against Hibs and they started well with Jonny Hayes seeing his effort from 16 yards strike the upright.
There was one change for Inverness from the side that had lost 3-2 to Hibs - Owain Tudur Jones taking the place of Gregory Tade, who dropped to a bench that included Aaron Doran, back after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
BOTH Caley Thistle and St Johnstone failed to break the deadlock as the points were shared in Perth.
