Inverness man jailed for attacking brother
A FOUR months jail sentence was imposed on an Inverness man for an assault on his brother at their home in the South Kessock area of the city.
Colin Drummond (42) appeared from custody and admitted assaulting Ewan Drummond at their home in Kessock Road by striking him on the head.
He also admitted committing the offence while on bail.
Depute Fiscal Ian Smith said a police officer in a marked car was passing when the mother of the two men left the house and shouted that Colin Drummond had struck Ewan Drummond on the head. The officer called for assistance and both entered the property and found Ewan Drummond with a small cut on his head.
“All had been drink and they had fallen out,” said the fiscal.
Marc Dickson, solicitor, said all parties had been drinking within the family home and a disagreement broke out.
“I’m told Ewan Drummond struck Colin Drummond first,” said Mr Dickson.
Sheriff Andrew Berry told Drummond he had an appalling record.
