Man, 50, charged in connection with ‘serious assault’ after death of man

A 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged serious assault following the death of a 53-year-old man in North Lanarkshire more than a week ago.

James McMaster, 53, was found dead in a flat in Maxton Crescent, Wishaw, at around 2.10pm on Thursday, December 5.

Police said the 50-year-old man who has been arrested and charged is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police said that inquiries remain ongoing.
