RESIDENTS at a Keith care home have been enjoying a touch of luxury after a new nail bar opened in the home.

Glenisla’s existing hair salon has recently been upgraded to include a nail bar for the ultimate pampering experience – with treatments including manicures, foot spas and facials.

Residents can also opt in to receive a private treatment in the comfort of their own room.

The first residents to enjoy a treatment were welcomed with a glass of fizz.

The new service was the brainchild of activities coordinator Emily Clair.

She said: “I have always made an effort to go round the residents and give the ladies a manicure and nail polish. Even the gents enjoy a wee manicure and hand massage.

“We will be providing this as a weekly service so when the residents come to the salon to get their hair done, they can also have a treatment over a glass of bubbly or a cup of tea.

“Everyone seems to love it. There’s a great atmosphere and the residents enjoy chatting away to me and Irene, our hairdresser. It feels like a real salon so it’s been a big hit.”
