Buckie Choral Union prepare musical journey through festive season
A musical journey through the festive season is set to come to Buckie.
This weekend will see Buckie Choral Union will be holding a joyful concert of Christmas carols and songs in the town’s South and West Church.
One of the pieces performed will be a fun ‘musicological journey through the 12 days of Christmas’, which features pastiches of many forms of music ranging from sixth century plainsong, through the styles of Vivaldi, Mozart, Strauss and Wagner amongst others, up to 19th century Russian and American.
The choir are delighted to be joined again by the lovely soprano soloist Sine MacDonald, and the Buckie Community High School fiddle groups.
The audience will also have the chance to join in some traditional carols.
In addition to the music there will be a raffle and refreshments to enjoy, making it a great start to the Christmas season.
The concert is at 7.30pm on Sunday, December 8, with tickets available from Right Medicine Pharmacy, choir members, online and at the door.
