Moray politician Tim Eagle to show support for farmers at Holyrood rally

An MSP whose constituency includes Moray will be amongst the speakers today at a farming rally being held outside the Scottish Parliament.

Tim Eagle is the shadow rural affairs secretary and a list MSP for the Highlands and Island. In addition he’s also a farmer from Buckie.

Mr Eagle said: “Next week’s Scottish budget comes at a critical point for the sector and it is vital the SNP deliver the support our farmers, crofters and the wider agricultural sector need to thrive.

“It speaks volumes that so many farmers will attend at such a busy time of year for them.

“Their pleas outside Holyrood today cannot simply be ignored.”

The National Farmers’ Union Scotland has organised today’s rally at Holyrood to call for an increase in funding for farmers and crofters ahead of the Scottish budget on Wednesday, December 4.

Rural stakeholders from across Scotland will gather outside the parliament building from 11.30am onwards.
