Following further easing of local restrictions more library services are being made available to the public.

A Book to Browse service has been introduced at a number of larger libraries, which will allow customers to book to go into the facility for up to 30 minutes to browse and borrow resources.

Up to this point customers have only been able to visit libraries to use Public PCs and pick up borrowed resources where restrictions permit it.

The number of people in a library at any one time will be limited based on its size.

Customers will be expected to use hand sanitiser, wear face coverings and follow any safety advice provided by library staff.

Returned items will continue to be quarantined and Track and Trace information will be collected at the point of booking.

Book and Browse is now available at the following libraries - Westhill, Stonehaven, Fraserburgh, Huntly, Peterhead, Mintlaw Library @ Macbi, Ellon and Banchory (from May 31).

The first four weeks of operation will be reviewed and after this time it's intended to offer limited opening of libraries with sufficient floorspace.

Libraries with limited opening from the week beginning June 14 will also provide Click and Collect, Home Delivery and Public PC services.

The list includes those libraries above, as well as libraries at - Aboyne, Alford, Ballater, Balmedie, Banff, Cairnbulg, Cruden Bay, Inverurie, Kemnay, Kintore, Macduff, Mearns, New Pitsligo, Portlethen, Turriff and Westhill.

Meldrum Library will not reopen for limited browsing due to building works within the Library premises.

Click and Collect will continue to be delivered from Library Headquarters in Oldmeldrum.

Where libraries are not large enough to provide a Book and Browse service or limited opening, they will continue to or begin offering Click and Collect and/or Home Delivery services wherever possible.

PC booking will not be available in these sites.

This will be available from these smaller libraries on the following dates: Strichen (May 24), Newmachar (ongoing), Rosehearty (ongoing), Aberchirder (June 14), Portsoy (June 7), Boddam (June 7), Newtonhill (date TBC), Insch (June 7), Fettercairn (June 14), Mearns, Bracoden (June 14), Whitehills (May 31), Library HQ at Oldmeldrum (ongoing).
