Moray count for 2022 local elections starts at Elgin Town Hall

COUNTING is underway for Moray's local council election.

The Elgin Town Hall count, which kicked off at around 9.30am this morning, is set to elect 23 councillors, who will sit until at least 2026.

Wards will be counted in the following order, though timing of declarations is subject to change: Speyside Glenlivet, Fochabers Lhanbryde, Keith and Cullen, Heldon and Laich, Forres, Elgin North, Elgin South.

The new councillors for Buckie were also brought on stage, despite councillors for the undeclared ward already being named.
