Moray Young Musician 2025 winner announced





An audience enjoyed ten stunning performances as the third annual Moray Young Musicians competition took place at Elgin Academy .

The tightly contested final saw Chloe Campbell, a fiddler from Milne’s High School, announced as the winner, after performing a set which included a tune she’d composed herself during the past month.

Chloe will now represent Moray at both the Scottish Young Musician and Rotary Young Musician competitions later this year.

Runner-up awards were presented to trumpeter Finlay Mcluckie and vocalist Huck Whittle, who both go to Elgin Academy.

Alexander Davidson, who’s in charge of music tuition across Moray, added: “The level of talent on display was incredibly high.

“It’s always a fantastic to see young musicians challenge themselves and to achieve new heights. What’s especially heartening is that many of the finalists have have taken part in council-led activities, whether that’s lessons or playing in ensembles.”

Kathleen Robertson, the leader of the council and a keen musician, said: “The competition was a real showcase of the incredible musical talent we have in Moray. All the finalists should be immensely proud of their achievements.

“By all accounts their performances were of the highest standard, which is a testament to their dedication and effort.”
