Missing Banffshire woman found safe

Police have confirmed that a woman reported missing from the Banffshire area has been found safe and well.

Officers in the north-east area made an appeal late on Sunday night to help trace Dawn Jeffrey (45).

She had last been seen in the Whitehills area at about 7.30pm on Sunday.

Police confirmed in the early hours of Monday morning that she had been found.

A spokesman said: "Police Scotland would like to advise that the previously reported missing person Dawn Jeffrey has been traced safe and well.

"The public are thanked for their assistance."
