The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning.
Very strong winds are likely to result in some travel disruption and dangerous coastal conditions across northern and eastern Scotland.
This warning applies to travel in the Tayside, Fife, North-east, Highland and Islands areas between 8pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.
The Met Office advises that people should expect:
• Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport
• Some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
• Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges
• Some short term loss of power and other services
• Coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
If you are driving a vehicle which may be vulnerable to being blown over along exposed routes, including bridges, please exercise additional caution and plan your route to avoid exposed areas or consider cancelling your journey until conditions improve.
High-sided vehicles are most affected by windy weather, but strong gusts can also blow a car, cyclist, motorcyclist or horse rider off course.
This can happen on open stretches of road exposed to strong crosswinds, as well as bridges.
Ignoring weather warnings is not only dangerous for the driver and any passengers, but other road users, emergency services and recovery operatives.
