Gardenstown memory walk fundraiser supports Alzheimer Scotland
A community has banded together to support a memory walk for a dementia charity.
Alzheimer Scotland dementia advisor Laura Crockatt organised the fundraising event which took place in Gardenstown.
She said: “The walk was not one of miles but more about remembering those we have lost and supporting those living with dementia.
“Eleanor Hepburn, a local woman who grew up in Gardenstown, gave a guided tour of the village explaining all the history and events as we walked.
“We then all enjoyed homemade cupcakes made and donated by Eleanor Grieve from Eli’s Crafts, Cakes and Coffee shop which is based at New Ground in the village.
“Eli’s has been a huge supporter of Alzheimer Scotland and always offers her hospitality and use of her beautiful café whenever we hold a local event.
“It was a lovely atmosphere which every year brings the community and those visiting the area together. We raised an incredible £575.50.
“Thank you to all who donated and took part – see you next year.”
