Tree planting marks platinum jubilee in Meikle Wartle

The residents of Meikle Wartle will remember the Queen's platinum jubilee for generations to come after planting a tree to commemorate the occasion.

With the park decorated by members of the local craft club, the community gathered in the sunshine to enjoy picnics with family and friends and witness the planting of the tree by local resident Gordon Nicol.

There was also a treasure hunt for young revellers to enjoy.

The event was organised by Wartle Community Association.
