Elgin Northport ‘disturbance’ results in two men being arrested and one taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital





A man taken to hospital with “serious injuries” was one of two arrested after a mass of emergency services attended a town-centre “disturbance”.

Around half a dozen police vehicles and an ambulance were called to an incident in the Northport area of Elgin on Thursday evening.

A 31-year-old was taken by ambulance to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin with “serious” injuries, while the other man, 24, was treated at the scene.

Inspector Andy Meikleham said: “At around 8.05pm on Thursday, August 29, police received a report of a disturbance at a property in the Northport area of Elgin.

“A 31-year-old man was treated for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, whilst a 24-year-old man was treated for minor injuries.

“Both men have been arrested and enquiries remain ongoing.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service said one man was taken to hospital.

“We received a call at 8.06pm on Thursday, August 29, to attend an incident in Northport, Elgin,” the spokesperson confirmed.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transported to Dr Gray’s Hospital.”
