Banff incident saw road cordoned as arrested man due in court





A man arrested last night is set to appear in court over an incident which saw police and fire services block a town road for hours.

Police confirmed that a 34-year-old was arrested and charged in Banff last night, after emergency services were called to “reports of concern for a person”.

The incident, on Duncan Street, saw the road cordoned off for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson added that officers were called to the area at around 7pm last night (Monday, November 11).

The 34-year-old man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

The spokesperson said: "Around 7pm on Monday, November 11, 2024, we were called to reports of concern for a person on Duncan Street, Banff.

"Officers attended and a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 12 November, 2024.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
