Banff fire sees man arrested after emergency service response





A man has been arrested after police and fire attended a fire in Banff.

Officers confirmed that a 34-year-old was arrested in connection with the fire, in the Whinhill Road area, with enquiries still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the force was called about the incident at around 1.40pm.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire, which has since been extinguished.

“Around 1.40pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, we were made aware of a fire at a property in the Whinhill Road area of Banff,” A Police Scotland spokesperson said.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.

“There were no reported injuries.

“A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
