Sleeping Beauty set to grace Huntly stage as tickets for panto go on sale

Tickets are now on sale for an eagerly-awaited festive panto.

Aurora Productions will be bringing the much-loved family show Sleeping Beauty to Stewart’s Hall, Huntly from Tuesday, December 2 to Saturday, December 6.

The production boasts a talented local cast drawn from Huntly, Keith, Banff, Elgin and the surrounding areas. Taking on the title role of the cursed Princess Aurora is S6 Gordon Schools pupil Lily Chaplin. Battling her will be Banff's Elaine Bunce, who steps into the shoes of the villainous Maleficent.

The show features a host of familiar faces from the local stage, including Lewis Moggach as the uproarious Dame, Nurse Nellie, Sarah Tassell as her hapless son, Muddles, and Martin Bell as the heroic Prince Freddie.

The magical mayhem is completed by June Cranna, Elizabeth Ingram and Katherine Taylor as three delightfully eccentric fairies. They are joined by Gregor Cameron, Neil Bell-Forsyth, Lauren MacAskill and Scot Hector, plus a vibrant ensemble of local talent.

Director Hannah McGinlay is excited to bring the show to life for audiences this Christmas.

She said: "The script is honestly one of my favourites we’ve ever worked on.

"There’s something in it for everyone.

“The cast are having such a good time in rehearsals - audiences are definitely in for lots of laughs."

Sleeping Beauty promises to be the classic tale everyone knows and loves, but with Aurora Productions’ signature twists. Audiences can look forward to spectacular music, lots of local jokes and a whole lot of fun for all the family.

Tickets are now available for purchase online at www.auroramusic.co.uk/box-office and in-person at Rizza's Ice Cream, Huntly. Early booking is advised.
