Lib Dems select long-serving Jeff Goodhall for Aberdeenshire West battle
The Lib Dems have selected their candidate to fight the Aberdeenshire West constituency in next year’s Scottish elections
As well as being a businessman Jeff Goodhall has served on Aberdeenshire Council since 2012.
He said: “In my time as a local councillor I have championed local causes that are close to the hearts of the people of my ward, and I have helped many residents overcome issues on a personal level. That is why I became a local councillor.
“As a Liberal Democrat you do not become a politician in order to gain high office or personal gain. You do it to serve those whom you represent.”
The Aberdeenshire West constituency includes Huntly as well as Westhill, Strathbogie, Alford, Aboyne and Banchory.
Mr Goodhall added: “I thought long and hard before offering myself as your representative in the Scottish Parliament. I have now done so in order to try and help overcome the divisions we see today throughout our political establishment.
“In Scotland we see political parties who are more interested in internal party politics and, indeed, political survival than helping the people of Aberdeenshire to pay their bills and have decent fulfilling lives”.
“In these times of turmoil and division our country desperately needs to regain its centre and
“We need to champion unity and clear constructive policies that will enable us all to move forward with hope.
“In 2026 vote Scottish Liberal Democrat.”
